
Registered Nurse Coordinator- Transplant (Pre-Kidney)

- Serve as the primary point of contact for patients and families throughout their transplant journey, providing exceptional customer service and support.
- Conduct thorough pre-transplant evaluations for potential kidney transplant candidates, including reviewing medical history, conducting physical exams, and coordinating necessary tests and procedures.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members, including physicians, surgeons, social workers, and dietitians, to develop and implement individualized treatment plans for patients.
- Educate patients and families on the transplant process, including risks, benefits, and expectations before and after surgery.
- Coordinate and schedule appointments, tests, and procedures for patients, ensuring timely and efficient care.
- Monitor and track patient progress, including post-transplant follow-ups, and communicate any concerns or changes in status to the transplant team.
- Provide emotional support and counseling to patients and families, assisting with any anxieties or concerns they may have throughout the transplant process.
- Serve as an advocate for patients, ensuring their needs and preferences are addressed and met during their transplant journey.
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records and documentation, adhering to all legal and ethical standards.
- Stay current on advancements and changes in transplant nursing through continuing education and professional development opportunities.
Current And Valid Registered Nurse (Rn) License In The State Of Michigan
Bachelor's Degree In Nursing (Bsn) From An Accredited Institution
Minimum Of 3 Years Of Experience In Transplant Nursing, With A Focus On Pre-Kidney Transplantation
Certification In Transplant Nursing Through The American Board For Transplant Certification (Abtc) Or Similar Organization
Strong Communication And Leadership Skills, With The Ability To Coordinate And Manage A Multidisciplinary Team Of Healthcare Professionals
