- Conduct thorough assessments of patients' mental and emotional well-being in the context of their palliative care needs.
- Develop and implement personalized treatment plans for patients, utilizing evidence-based techniques and approaches.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to provide holistic care and support for patients and their families.
- Offer individual and group therapy to patients and their families, addressing issues related to grief, loss, and end-of-life planning.
- Support and educate patients and families on coping strategies and resources for managing the emotional and psychological impact of serious illness.
- Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and provide input on patient care plans.
- Maintain accurate and thorough documentation of patient assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes.
- Stay current with developments and advancements in the field of palliative care and end-of-life psychology.
- Provide education and training to healthcare staff on psychological aspects of palliative care.
- Adhere to ethical and professional standards in all interactions with patients, families, and colleagues.
Doctoral Degree In Psychology (Phd Or Psyd) From An Accredited University
Specialization In Palliative Care Or End-Of-Life Issues Through Coursework And/Or Clinical Experience
State Licensure As A Psychologist, With Additional Certification In Palliative Care Preferred
Minimum Of 2 Years Experience Working With Terminally Ill Patients And Their Families
Strong Communication And Collaboration Skills To Work Effectively With A Multidisciplinary Team And Provide Support To Patients And Their Families During A Difficult Time.
