We are currently seeking a dynamic and experienced Psychiatry Residency Training Program Director to lead our program and shape the future of mental health care. As the Program Director, you will have the opportunity to mentor and guide residents as they develop the skills and knowledge to become compassionate and competent psychiatrists. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in psychiatry, a passion for teaching and a dedication to advancing the field.   1. Oversee and lead the Psychiatry Residency Training Program at Henry Ford Health System.
  2. Develop and implement a comprehensive curriculum for resident education and training.
  3. Mentor and guide residents in their professional and personal development.
  4. Create a supportive and inclusive learning environment for residents.
  5. Develop and maintain partnerships and collaborations with other healthcare institutions and organizations to enhance the training program.
  6. Evaluate and assess resident performance and provide feedback for improvement.
  7. Ensure compliance with all accreditation standards and requirements for the residency program.
  8. Stay up-to-date with advancements and changes in the field of psychiatry and incorporate them into the training program.
  9. Recruit and select qualified candidates for the residency program.
  10. Foster a culture of continuous learning and professional growth among residents.
  11. Collaborate with other faculty members to provide a well-rounded educational experience for residents.
  12. Participate in departmental and institutional committees and meetings to promote the program and its goals.
  13. Serve as a role model for residents in terms of professionalism, ethics, and patient care.
  14. Promote and uphold the mission and values of Henry Ford Health System.
  15. Continuously evaluate and improve the residency program to ensure excellence in training and patient care.

Job Qualifications

  • Board Certification In Psychiatry: The Ideal Candidate For The Psychiatry Residency Training Program Director Position At Henry Ford Health System Should Hold A Current And Valid Board Certification In Psychiatry From The American Board Of Psychiatry And Neurology.

  • Extensive Clinical Experience: The Candidate Should Have At Least 5-7 Years Of Clinical Experience In The Field Of Psychiatry, Preferably In An Academic Or Teaching Setting. This Experience Should Include Working With A Diverse Patient Population And Managing Complex Psychiatric Cases.

  • Previous Teaching And Leadership Experience: The Candidate Should Have A Proven Track Record Of Teaching And Mentoring Psychiatry Residents, As Well As Experience In Administrative Or Leadership Roles Within The Field Of Psychiatry.

  • Knowledge Of Acgme Requirements: As The Psychiatry Residency Training Program Director, The Candidate Should Have A Thorough Understanding Of The Accreditation Council For Graduate Medical Education (Acgme) Requirements For Residency Training Programs. This Includes Familiarity With Program Accreditation, Evaluation, And Curriculum Design.

  • Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills: The Candidate Should Possess Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills, As They Will Be Working Closely With Residents, Faculty, And Other Healthcare Professionals Within The Henry Ford Health System. They Should Also Have The Ability To Foster A Positive And Collaborative Learning Environment For Residents.
