  1. Prepare and distribute medications to patients upon discharge in a safe and timely manner.
  2. Ensure accuracy and completeness of medication orders and patient profiles.
  3. Collaborate with pharmacists and other healthcare professionals to provide top-notch patient care.
  4. Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to all safety and regulatory standards.
  5. Communicate effectively with patients, caregivers, and healthcare providers regarding medication instructions and any potential drug interactions or side effects.
  6. Accurately enter and update patient information and medication orders in electronic health records.
  7. Monitor inventory levels and assist in ordering and restocking medications.
  8. Help to resolve any medication-related issues or discrepancies.
  9. Maintain confidentiality of patient information and adhere to HIPAA guidelines.
  10. Participate in ongoing training and education to stay current on new medications and procedures.
  11. Continuously strive to improve processes and procedures to enhance patient care and safety.
  12. Possess a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  13. Demonstrate excellent customer service skills and a compassionate attitude towards patients.
  14. Adhere to all hospital policies and procedures, including those related to medication handling and storage.
  15. Work collaboratively with other members of the healthcare team to ensure the best possible outcomes for patients.

Job Qualifications
  • High School Diploma Or Equivalent: Most Employers Require A Minimum Of A High School Diploma Or Equivalent For Pharmacy Technician Positions.

  • Certified Pharmacy Technician (Cpht) Certification: Obtaining Certification From The Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (Ptcb) Is Highly Preferred For This Role.

  • Previous Experience In A Hospital Or Discharge Pharmacy Setting: Employers Typically Prefer Candidates With At Least 1-2 Years Of Experience Working In A Hospital Or Discharge Pharmacy Setting.

  • Strong Understanding Of Pharmaceutical Terminology And Medication Management: A Solid Understanding Of Pharmaceutical Terminology And Medication Management Is Essential For This Role To Ensure Accurate Dispensing And Patient Safety.

  • Excellent Communication And Customer Service Skills: As A Discharge Pharmacy Technician, You Will Be Interacting With Patients, Nurses, And Other Healthcare Professionals On A Daily Basis. Strong Communication And Customer Service Skills Are Necessary To Provide A Positive Patient Experience And Effectively Communicate With Other Members Of The Healthcare Team.
