  1. Dispense medications accurately and efficiently under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
  2. Provide exceptional customer service to patients by answering questions, addressing concerns, and ensuring a positive experience.
  3. Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to all HIPAA regulations.
  4. Prepare and label medication orders accurately and in a timely manner.
  5. Maintain inventory and stock levels, ensuring all medications are stored and handled properly.
  6. Collaborate with pharmacists and other healthcare professionals to ensure safe and effective medication therapy for patients.
  7. Follow all safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe working environment.
  8. Enter and maintain patient and prescription information accurately in the pharmacy system.
  9. Assist in the preparation and compounding of sterile and non-sterile medications.
  10. Keep up-to-date with industry developments and changes in medications and pharmacy practice.
  11. Assist with billing and insurance claims processing.
  12. Participate in training and educational opportunities to maintain certification and enhance knowledge and skills.
  13. Communicate effectively with patients, healthcare providers, and other team members.
  14. Adhere to all state and federal pharmacy laws and regulations.
  15. Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  16. Perform other duties as assigned by the pharmacy manager or supervisor.

Job Qualifications
  • High School Diploma Or Equivalent: A Minimum Of A High School Diploma Or Equivalent Is Required For The Role Of Pharmacy Technician At Henry Ford Health System. This Ensures That The Candidate Has A Basic Level Of Education And Understanding Of Medical Terminology.

  • Certification Or License: A Valid Certification Or License As A Pharmacy Technician Is Required For This Position. Candidates Must Have Passed The Pharmacy Technician Certification Exam (Ptce) Or The Exam For The Certification Of Pharmacy Technicians (Excpt).

  • Experience In An Ambulatory Pharmacy Setting: Previous Work Experience In An Ambulatory Pharmacy Setting Is Highly Preferred For This Role. This Ensures That The Candidate Is Familiar With The Unique Needs And Challenges Of Working In An Outpatient Pharmacy.

  • Knowledge Of Medication And Pharmacy Operations: A Strong Understanding Of Medication And Pharmacy Operations Is Essential For A Pharmacy Technician At Henry Ford Health System. This Includes Knowledge Of Drug Names, Dosages, And Potential Interactions.

  • Excellent Communication And Customer Service Skills: As A Pharmacy Technician, One Must Interact With Patients, Pharmacists, And Other Healthcare Professionals On A Daily Basis. Strong Communication And Customer Service Skills Are Essential For Providing Quality Care And Maintaining A Positive Work Environment.
