  1. Assist pharmacists in preparing and dispensing medications accurately and efficiently.
  2. Maintain inventory levels and order medications as needed.
  3. Ensure compliance with pharmacy laws, regulations, and standards.
  4. Process patient prescriptions and insurance claims accurately and in a timely manner.
  5. Provide excellent customer service to patients and healthcare professionals.
  6. Collaborate with other healthcare team members to ensure seamless patient care.
  7. Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  8. Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures.
  9. Handle and store medications and supplies appropriately.
  10. Maintain patient confidentiality at all times.
  11. Perform medication and equipment checks to ensure quality and accuracy.
  12. Assist with training and mentoring new pharmacy technicians.
  13. Continuously update knowledge and skills through ongoing education and training.
  14. Troubleshoot and resolve any medication-related issues or concerns.
  15. Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care.
  16. Follow established protocols for medication compounding and labeling.
  17. Maintain accurate records and documentation.
  18. Perform other duties as assigned by the supervising pharmacist or pharmacy manager.

Job Qualifications

  • High School Diploma Or Equivalent: A Minimum Of A High School Diploma Or Equivalent Is Required For A Pharmacy Technician Position At Henry Ford Health System.

  • Pharmacy Technician Certification: Candidates Must Have A Valid Pharmacy Technician Certification From The Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (Ptcb) Or National Healthcareer Association (Nha).

  • Experience In A Healthcare Setting: Previous Experience Working In A Pharmacy Or Other Healthcare Setting Is Highly Preferred, As It Demonstrates A Familiarity With Medical Terminology, Prescription Filling, And Other Essential Skills.

  • Knowledge Of Pharmaceutical Products And Procedures: A Thorough Understanding Of Different Types Of Medications, Dosage Forms, And Handling Procedures Is Necessary For A Pharmacy Technician At Henry Ford Health System.

  • Excellent Communication And Customer Service Skills: Pharmacy Technicians Are Expected To Interact With Patients, Healthcare Providers, And Other Staff Members On A Daily Basis. Strong Communication Skills, As Well As A Customer Service-Oriented Attitude, Are Essential For Success In This Role.
