  1. Collaborate with pharmacy team to accurately and efficiently dispense medication to inpatient units.
  2. Prepare and label medication orders according to established procedures and protocols.
  3. Utilize computer systems to enter and verify prescription data and patient information.
  4. Maintain accurate inventory of medications and supplies, restocking as needed.
  5. Monitor medication storage and ensure proper storage conditions are maintained.
  6. Communicate with healthcare providers and nurses regarding medication orders and patient needs.
  7. Follow all safety protocols and procedures to ensure safe handling and administration of medications.
  8. Keep up-to-date with changes in medication and pharmacy regulations and policies.
  9. Enter and maintain patient records and prescription information in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
  10. Provide excellent customer service to patients and healthcare providers, answering questions and addressing concerns.
  11. Assist in training and mentoring new pharmacy technicians.
  12. Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and safety.
  13. Adhere to all guidelines and procedures for controlled substances and ensure accurate documentation and record keeping.
  14. Maintain a clean and organized work area, including proper disposal of waste and expired medications.
  15. Continuously evaluate and improve processes to increase efficiency and accuracy in medication delivery.

Job Qualifications
  • Certification: The Ideal Candidate Should Hold A Certification As A Pharmacy Technician From An Accredited Program Or Institution.

  • Inpatient Pharmacy Experience: The Candidate Should Have At Least 2 Years Of Experience Working As A Pharmacy Technician In An Inpatient Setting.

  • Knowledge Of Medication Management Systems: The Candidate Should Have A Thorough Understanding Of Medication Management Systems, Such As Pyxis, Omnicell, Or Other Similar Systems.

  • Teamwork And Communication Skills: Excellent Communication And Teamwork Skills Are Essential For This Role, As The Candidate Will Be Working Closely With Pharmacists, Nurses, And Other Healthcare Professionals.

  • Attention To Detail: The Candidate Should Possess Strong Attention To Detail In Order To Accurately And Safely Prepare Medications For Patients. This Includes Understanding Dosages, Drug Interactions, And Proper Storage And Handling Of Medications.
