- Provide support to patients and medical staff during surgical procedures.
- Assist with pre-operative preparations, such as setting up equipment and preparing the surgical site.

- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and medical team members to provide updates and address any concerns.
- Assist with patient positioning and transport to and from the operating room.

High School Diploma Or Equivalent: A Minimum Educational Requirement For A Peri-Operative Assistant At Henry Ford Health System Is A High School Diploma Or Equivalent. This Ensures That The Candidate Has A Basic Understanding Of Medical Terminology And Procedures.
Certification In Surgical Technology: Having A Certification In Surgical Technology Demonstrates That The Candidate Has Completed A Formal Training Program And Has The Necessary Knowledge And Skills To Assist In The Operating Room.
Experience In A Surgical Or Clinical Setting: Prior Experience Working In A Surgical Or Clinical Setting Is Highly Desirable For A Peri-Operative Assistant. This Experience Can Include Working As A Surgical Technologist, Medical Assistant, Or Nursing Assistant.
