1. Provide assistance to perfusionists during cardiac and respiratory procedures, including setting up equipment, monitoring patient vital signs, and recording data.
2. Maintain a clean and organized work environment, ensuring that all equipment is properly sterilized and functioning.
3. Prepare and deliver medications and fluids as directed by the perfusionist.
4. Monitor patient responses to treatment and alert perfusionists of any changes or concerns.
5. Collaborate with other healthcare team members to ensure coordinated and efficient patient care.
6. Document all procedures and patient information accurately and in a timely manner.
7. Assist with transporting patients to and from the operating room and other areas of the hospital.
8. Assist with troubleshooting equipment issues and communicating any problems to the appropriate personnel.
9. Maintain knowledge of current perfusion techniques and participate in continuing education to enhance skills and knowledge.
10. Adhere to all hospital policies and procedures, as well as safety and infection control protocols.
11. Provide compassionate and high-quality care to patients and their families.
12. Contribute to a positive and collaborative team atmosphere, promoting a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
13. Take initiative to identify and address any potential risks or concerns related to patient care.
14. Maintain confidentiality of patient information and adhere to HIPAA regulations.
15. Perform other duties as assigned by the supervising perfusionist or department manager.
