
Perfusion Assistant

- Provide assistance to perfusionists during cardiac and respiratory procedures, including setting up equipment, monitoring patient vital signs, and recording data.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, ensuring that all equipment is properly sterilized and functioning.
- Prepare and deliver medications and fluids as directed by the perfusionist.
- Monitor patient responses to treatment and alert perfusionists of any changes or concerns.
- Collaborate with other healthcare team members to ensure coordinated and efficient patient care.
- Document all procedures and patient information accurately and in a timely manner.
- Assist with transporting patients to and from the operating room and other areas of the hospital.
- Assist with troubleshooting equipment issues and communicating any problems to the appropriate personnel.
- Maintain knowledge of current perfusion techniques and participate in continuing education to enhance skills and knowledge.
- Adhere to all hospital policies and procedures, as well as safety and infection control protocols.
- Provide compassionate and high-quality care to patients and their families.
- Contribute to a positive and collaborative team atmosphere, promoting a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
- Take initiative to identify and address any potential risks or concerns related to patient care.
- Maintain confidentiality of patient information and adhere to HIPAA regulations.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervising perfusionist or department manager.
Minimum Of A High School Diploma Or Equivalent Education.
Completion Of An Accredited Perfusion Assistant Training Program.
Current Certification As A Perfusion Assistant By The American Board Of Cardiovascular Perfusion (Abcp).
Previous Experience Working In A Perfusion Department At A Healthcare Facility.
Excellent Communication And Teamwork Skills, With The Ability To Work Closely With Perfusionists, Surgeons, And Other Healthcare Professionals.
