- Accurately code and abstract medical records for outpatient facilities within the Henry Ford Health System.
- Utilize a strong understanding of coding guidelines and regulations to ensure compliance and accuracy in coding.
- Code and abstract complex outpatient services, including procedures and diagnoses, according to established coding guidelines.
- Collaborate with a dynamic team of medical coders and other healthcare professionals to ensure timely and accurate coding.
- Stay up-to-date on changes in coding guidelines and regulations to ensure compliance and accuracy.
- Maintain confidentiality and security of patient information at all times.
- Utilize electronic health records and coding software to accurately code and abstract medical records.
- Communicate with healthcare providers and other team members to clarify any discrepancies or missing information in medical records.
- Meet productivity and quality standards set by the organization.
- Work independently and efficiently to meet deadlines and prioritize tasks.
- Participate in training and education programs to maintain and improve coding skills.
- Assist with coding audits and provide feedback for improvement.

Certified Coding Specialist (Ccs) Or Certified Professional Coder (Cpc) Certification: This Qualification Demonstrates Knowledge And Proficiency In Medical Coding Standards And Guidelines, Which Is Essential For Accurately Coding Outpatient Complex Cases.
Minimum Of 3 Years Of Coding Experience In A Healthcare Setting: Outpatient Complex Coding Requires A High Level Of Expertise And Experience. Candidates With At Least 3 Years Of Coding Experience Will Be Better Equipped To Handle The Challenges Of This Role.
Thorough Understanding Of Icd-10 And Cpt Coding Systems: Outpatient Complex Coding Involves Assigning The Correct Diagnosis And Procedure Codes For A Wide Range Of Complex Cases. A Strong Understanding Of These Coding Systems Is Crucial For Accurate And Efficient Coding.
