- Lead and manage a team of pharmacists and technicians to ensure the delivery of high-quality oncology care to patients.
- Oversee all aspects of medication management in the oncology department, including procurement, distribution, and patient education.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure safe and effective use of medications in the oncology department.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care to oncology patients.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in oncology pharmacy and incorporate new treatments and technologies into practice.
- Conduct regular assessments of the department's performance and make necessary improvements to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Manage the department's budget and ensure efficient use of resources.
- Provide guidance and support to staff, including training and professional development opportunities.
- Serve as a mentor and role model to staff, promoting a positive and collaborative work culture.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation of medication use in the oncology department.
- Communicate effectively with patients, caregivers, and healthcare professionals to provide education and address any concerns related to medication use.
- Ensure compliance with all state and federal regulations, as well as hospital policies and procedures.
- Foster strong relationships with pharmaceutical companies to ensure timely and cost-effective procurement of medications.
- Act as a liaison between the oncology department and other hospital departments to promote interdisciplinary collaboration.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance the overall quality of care in the oncology department.
Doctor Of Pharmacy (Pharmd) Degree From An Accredited Institution
Board Certification In Oncology Pharmacy (Bcop) From The Board Of Pharmacy Specialties
Minimum Of 5 Years Experience In Oncology Pharmacy Practice, Including 2 Years In A Management Or Leadership Role
Strong Knowledge Of Chemotherapy And Other Oncology Medications, As Well As Current Treatment Guidelines And Protocols
Excellent Communication And Leadership Skills, With The Ability To Effectively Manage A Team And Collaborate With Other Healthcare Professionals In A Fast-Paced Environment.
