- Provide exceptional patient care in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
- Utilize strong critical care skills to assess and treat patients in the Cardiac Surgery ICU.
- Collaborate with a team of healthcare professionals to develop and implement treatment plans for patients.
- Monitor and manage the condition of critically ill patients in the ICU.
- Administer medications and perform procedures as needed.
- Communicate effectively with patients and their families to provide education and support.
- Document patient care accurately and thoroughly in medical records.
- Stay up-to-date on current best practices and evidence-based treatments in the field of cardiac surgery.
- Work closely with physicians and other members of the healthcare team to coordinate patient care and ensure continuity of care.
- Maintain a high level of compassion and empathy while caring for patients and their families.
- Adhere to all hospital policies and procedures, as well as state and federal regulations.
- Participate in ongoing education and training to maintain and improve skills and knowledge.

Advanced Degree: A Minimum Of A Master's Degree In Nursing Or Physician Assistant Studies Is Required For This Position. Candidates With A Doctor Of Nursing Practice (Dnp) Or Doctor Of Medicine (Md) Degree Are Preferred.
Certification: Candidates Must Be Certified As A Nurse Practitioner Or Physician Assistant By A Recognized National Certifying Body, Such As The American Nurses Credentialing Center (Ancc) Or The National Commission On Certification Of Physician Assistants (Nccpa).
Cardiac Surgery Experience: This Position Requires A Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience In A Cardiac Surgery Icu Setting. Candidates Must Be Proficient In Managing Complex Cardiac Patients And Have A Strong Understanding Of Post-Operative Care For Cardiac Surgery Patients.
Critical Care Certification: Candidates Must Be Certified In Critical Care Nursing Or Have A Critical Care Specialty Certification From The American Association Of Critical-Care Nurses (Aacn) Or The American Board Of Physician Specialties (Abps).
Licensure: Candidates Must Have A Current, Unrestricted License To Practice As A Nurse Practitioner Or Physician Assistant In The State Of Michigan. Additional Licensure In Advanced Cardiac Life Support (Acls) And Basic Life Support (Bls) May Be Required.
