Job Description

Welcome to Henry Ford Health System, where we strive to provide the best patient-centered care. Our Neuro-Surgical Intensive Care unit is looking for a dedicated Nurse Assistant to join our team in providing exceptional care to patients recovering from major neurosurgical procedures. As a Nurse Assistant, you will work closely with our experienced nurses and medical staff to assist in the daily care and monitoring of patients. The ideal candidate will have a strong passion for helping others, excellent communication skills, and a willingness to learn and grow in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.   1. Provide compassionate and patient-centered care to patients recovering from major neurosurgical procedures.
  2. Collaborate with experienced nurses and medical staff to assist in the daily care and monitoring of patients.
  3. Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members to ensure the best possible care and treatment.
  4. Assist with daily activities such as bathing, grooming, and feeding to promote patient comfort and well-being.
  5. Monitor patients' vital signs, report any changes or concerns to the nursing team, and record accurate documentation.
  6. Ensure a clean and safe environment for patients by following infection control procedures and maintaining equipment and supplies.
  7. Communicate patient needs and concerns to the nursing team, including any changes in condition or behavior.
  8. Assist with transporting patients to and from procedures, tests, and appointments.
  9. Provide emotional support to patients and their families, addressing any questions or concerns they may have.
  10. Attend and participate in training and educational opportunities to enhance knowledge and skills.
  11. Follow all hospital policies and procedures to maintain a high standard of care.
  12. Maintain confidentiality of patient information and adhere to all HIPAA regulations.
  13. Serve as an advocate for patients, ensuring their needs and wishes are met.
  14. Demonstrate a positive attitude and promote a collaborative and supportive work environment.
  15. Continuously seek opportunities for personal and professional growth and development.

Job Qualifications
  • Certified Nursing Assistant (Cna) Certification And Completion Of An Approved Training Program.

  • Minimum Of 1 Year Of Experience In A Neuro-Surgical Intensive Care Unit Or Similar Setting.

  • Knowledge Of Neurology And Neurosurgical Procedures, Including The Ability To Monitor And Recognize Changes In Patient Conditions.

  • Demonstrated Ability To Provide Compassionate Care To Patients And Their Families In A Fast-Paced, High-Stress Environment.

  • Excellent Communication And Teamwork Skills, With The Ability To Collaborate With Healthcare Team Members To Provide Optimal Patient Care.
