- Coordinate and manage all aspects of the medical staff credentialing and privileging process, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and organizational policies.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of medical staff credentials, licenses, certifications, and other relevant information.
- Facilitate communication between medical staff, hospital administration, and other departments to ensure efficient and timely completion of credentialing and privileging processes.
- Collaborate with various healthcare professionals, including physicians, nurses, and administrative staff, to gather necessary information and ensure timely completion of credentialing and privileging applications.
- Conduct thorough background checks and verification of medical staff credentials to ensure compliance with organizational policies and regulatory standards.
- Develop and maintain effective relationships with medical staff members, providing support and assistance as needed.
- Monitor and track expiring credentials and privileges to ensure timely renewal and compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Assist in developing and implementing policies and procedures related to medical staff credentialing and privileging.
- Conduct regular audits of medical staff files to ensure accuracy and compliance with regulatory standards.
- Serve as a resource for medical staff members and hospital administration on matters related to credentialing, privileging, and regulatory compliance.
- Stay updated on changes in regulatory requirements and best practices in medical staff services, and make recommendations for process improvements as needed.
- Maintain strict confidentiality of all medical staff information and adhere to HIPAA regulations.
- Participate in departmental and organizational meetings, committees, and projects as assigned.
- Communicate and collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders to promote a positive and professional image of the organization.
- Adhere to all organizational policies, procedures, and standards, and promote a culture of excellence and continuous improvement within the medical staff services department.
Bachelor's Degree In Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Or A Related Field.
Minimum Of 3-5 Years Of Experience In Medical Staff Services Or Credentialing, Preferably In A Hospital Or Healthcare Setting.
Knowledge Of Medical Staff Bylaws, Regulations, And Accreditation Requirements (E.g. Joint Commission, Cms).
Experience With Credentialing Software And Databases, Such As Md-Staff Or Cactus.
Strong Communication, Organizational, And Time-Management Skills, With The Ability To Effectively Prioritize And Handle Multiple Tasks.
