- Perform laboratory tests and procedures accurately and efficiently according to established protocols and quality standards.
- Analyze and interpret test results, troubleshoot any issues or discrepancies, and report findings to appropriate medical staff.
- Maintain a safe and organized work environment, adhering to all safety protocols and procedures.
- Follow established protocols for handling and processing blood products, ensuring their safety and quality for patient transfusions.
- Monitor and maintain inventory of supplies and reagents, ensuring their availability for testing and procedures.
- Collaborate with other laboratory staff and medical professionals to ensure timely and accurate completion of tasks and procedures.
- Adhere to all regulatory and accreditation requirements, including maintaining proper documentation and records.
- Stay updated on current trends and advancements in the field of Medical Laboratory Science, and participate in continuing education opportunities.
- Assist in the training and supervision of new laboratory staff, ensuring their competence and adherence to protocols.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and assist in developing and implementing best practices for the Blood Bank department.
- Maintain confidentiality and ethical standards in all aspects of work, including patient information and laboratory results.
- Provide excellent customer service to patients and medical staff, addressing any concerns or questions in a professional and timely manner.
- Demonstrate a commitment to the organization's mission and values, and contribute to a positive and collaborative work environment.
Bachelor's Degree In Medical Laboratory Science Or Related Field From An Accredited University.
Certification As A Medical Laboratory Scientist (Mls) Or Equivalent From A Recognized Organization (E.g. Ascp).
Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience In A Clinical Laboratory, With A Focus On Blood Bank Operations.
Strong Understanding Of Blood Bank Procedures, Including Compatibility Testing, Antibody Identification, And Component Preparation.
Excellent Analytical And Problem-Solving Skills, With The Ability To Troubleshoot And Interpret Complex Laboratory Results.
