Job Description

Henry Ford Health System is seeking a passionate and experienced Medical Director for our Hospice program. As the Medical Director, you will have the opportunity to lead and develop the clinical team while providing compassionate care to patients and families in their end-of-life journey. We are looking for a dynamic individual with a strong background in hospice care, a commitment to excellence, and a desire to make a significant impact in the lives of our patients.   1. Lead and develop the clinical team: The Medical Director will be responsible for providing leadership and guidance to the clinical team, including nurses, social workers, and other healthcare professionals.
  2. Provide compassionate care: The primary responsibility of the Medical Director will be to provide compassionate care to patients and families in their end-of-life journey, ensuring their physical, emotional, and spiritual needs are met.
  3. Ensure quality of care: The Medical Director will be responsible for maintaining and improving the quality of care provided by the hospice program, through regular evaluations, training, and implementing best practices.
  4. Develop and implement policies and protocols: The Medical Director will work closely with the hospice team to develop and implement policies and protocols to ensure the delivery of high-quality care to patients.
  5. Collaborate with interdisciplinary team: The Medical Director will collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop individualized care plans for patients, ensuring that all aspects of their care are addressed.
  6. Provide education and training: The Medical Director will be responsible for providing education and training to the clinical team, as well as other healthcare professionals and community members, to increase understanding and awareness of hospice care.
  7. Ensure compliance with regulations: The Medical Director will be responsible for ensuring that the hospice program is in compliance with all state and federal regulations and guidelines.
  8. Participate in strategic planning: The Medical Director will play a key role in the strategic planning for the hospice program, including identifying opportunities for growth and improvement.
  9. Foster a positive and supportive work environment: The Medical Director will create a positive and supportive work environment for the hospice team, promoting collaboration, communication, and professional development.
  10. Represent the hospice program: The Medical Director will represent the hospice program to external stakeholders, including patients, families, community organizations, and healthcare providers, promoting the mission and values of the organization.

Job Qualifications
  • Board Certification In Hospice And Palliative Care Medicine: As The Medical Director Of Hospice At Henry Ford Health System, The Candidate Should Hold A Board Certification In Hospice And Palliative Care Medicine, Demonstrating Their Expertise And Knowledge In This Field.

  • Minimum Of 5 Years Of Experience In Hospice Care: The Ideal Candidate Should Have At Least 5 Years Of Experience Working In Hospice Care, With A Proven Track Record Of Providing Quality Care To Terminally Ill Patients.
