
Medical Assistant (Transplant Hepatology)

- Provide excellent customer service to patients and their families, ensuring they feel comfortable and supported during their time at the transplant center.
- Assist physicians and other healthcare providers in the care and treatment of liver transplant patients.
- Prepare and maintain patient charts, ensuring all necessary information is accurately recorded.
- Administer medications and assist with procedures as directed by healthcare providers.
- Monitor and document patient vital signs, report any abnormalities to healthcare team.
- Perform various administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, answering phone calls, and managing patient records.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, ensuring all equipment is properly sterilized and stocked.
- Educate patients about their medications, procedures, and post-transplant care.
- Collaborate with other members of the healthcare team to develop and implement patient care plans.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations at all times.
- Participate in ongoing training and education to stay current on best practices and new developments in transplant hepatology.
- Demonstrate a commitment to providing compassionate and quality care to patients at all times.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and infection control procedures.
- Contribute to a positive and collaborative team environment.
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor or healthcare providers.
Education And Certification: A Minimum Of A High School Diploma Or Equivalent Is Required, And Candidates Should Have Completed A Formal Medical Assistant Training Program. Certification As A Medical Assistant (Cma) Is Preferred.
Experience In Transplant Hepatology: Candidates Should Have At Least 2-3 Years Of Experience Working In A Transplant Hepatology Setting, Preferably Within A Hospital Or Healthcare System. This Experience Should Include Knowledge Of Transplant Protocols, Procedures, And Medications.
Strong Communication Skills: Excellent Communication Skills, Both Verbal And Written, Are Essential For This Role. Medical Assistants Must Be Able To Effectively Communicate With Patients, Physicians, And Other Healthcare Professionals.
Organizational Skills: This Position Requires Strong Organizational Skills To Assist With Managing Multiple Tasks, Appointments, And Procedures. The Ability To Prioritize And Work Efficiently In A Fast-Paced Environment Is Critical.
Knowledge Of Electronic Medical Records (Emr): Experience Working With Electronic Medical Records, Specifically Epic, Is Preferred. Candidates Should Be Comfortable Navigating And Documenting In An Emr System To Ensure Accurate And Timely Patient Care.
