Job Description

As a Medical Assistant for our Infectious Disease department, you will play a crucial role in supporting our team of healthcare professionals in delivering the highest quality of care to our patients.   1. Assist physicians and nurses in the diagnosis and treatment of infectious diseases by preparing patients and exam rooms, taking vital signs, and collecting specimens for testing.
  2. Monitor and record patient symptoms and vital signs, report any changes to the healthcare team, and assist with administering medications and treatments as directed.
  3. Educate patients and their families about infectious diseases, treatment plans, and preventive measures to promote a better understanding of their condition and promote overall health and wellness.
  4. Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including medical histories, test results, and treatment plans, in accordance with HIPAA regulations and department policies.
  5. Collaborate with other medical professionals to coordinate care and ensure a comprehensive and individualized approach to patient treatment.
  6. Adhere to infection control protocols and procedures to prevent the spread of infectious diseases and maintain a safe and clean environment for patients and staff.
  7. Assist with scheduling appointments, answering phone calls and emails, and managing patient inquiries and concerns in a timely and professional manner.
  8. Continuously seek out opportunities for professional development and stay updated on the latest advancements and best practices in the field of infectious diseases.
  9. Follow department and organizational policies and procedures to promote a positive and efficient work environment.
  10. Provide compassionate and empathetic care to patients, showing sensitivity to their unique needs and concerns, and promoting a culture of respect and inclusivity.
