- Assist in endoscopy procedures, including preparing and positioning patients, monitoring vital signs, and handing necessary tools and equipment to the physician.
- Maintain a clean and organized environment in the endoscopy suite, ensuring all equipment is properly sterilized and stocked.
- Communicate effectively with patients, their families, and other healthcare professionals to provide a positive and comfortable experience for patients undergoing endoscopy procedures.
- Document accurate and detailed patient information in electronic medical records, including vital signs, medications, and procedures performed.
- Monitor patients for any adverse reactions or complications during or after endoscopy procedures and report any concerns to the physician.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and infection control measures to ensure the safety of patients and staff.
- Assist with scheduling and coordinating patient appointments, including obtaining necessary authorizations and pre-procedure instructions.
- Provide education and instructions to patients and their families regarding post-procedure care and follow-up appointments.
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations when handling patient information.
- Continuously develop and maintain knowledge and skills related to endoscopy procedures and equipment.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to identify areas for improvement and participate in quality improvement initiatives.
- Demonstrate professionalism and a positive attitude towards patients and colleagues at all times.
- Attend and actively participate in department meetings and trainings as required.
- Comply with all organizational policies and procedures, as well as state and federal regulations.
- Remain flexible and adaptable to changing work demands, including rotating shifts and on-call responsibilities.
High School Diploma Or Equivalent, With A Minimum Of 1-2 Years Of Experience In A Medical Setting.
Completion Of An Accredited Medical Assistant Program And Certification From A Recognized Agency (E.g. American Association Of Medical Assistants).
Knowledge And Experience In Endoscopy Procedures, Including Preparation, Assisting The Physician, And Post-Procedure Care.
Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Provide Compassionate Care To Patients And Collaborate With Other Healthcare Professionals.
Familiarity With Electronic Medical Records And Proficiency In Basic Computer Skills.
