
Med Lab Technician - Microbiology

As a Med Lab Technician, you will play a critical role in detecting, diagnosing, and treating diseases through laboratory testing. - Conduct laboratory tests and procedures accurately and efficiently in accordance with established protocols and standards.
- Operate and maintain laboratory equipment, ensuring proper functioning and troubleshooting any issues that may arise.
- Prepare and analyze samples for various microbiological tests, including but not limited to cultures, stains, and sensitivity testing.
- Record and report test results accurately and promptly, adhering to all documentation and reporting requirements.
- Utilize critical thinking skills to troubleshoot unexpected or abnormal results, and communicate any concerns to the appropriate parties.
- Follow all safety procedures and protocols to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and others.
- Maintain inventory and stock levels of necessary laboratory supplies and reagents.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, such as doctors and nurses, to provide accurate and timely results for patient care.
- Participate in continuing education and training opportunities to stay current with new techniques and procedures in the field of microbiology.
- Adhere to all regulatory and compliance guidelines, ensuring the highest quality of testing and patient care.
Bachelor's Degree In Medical Laboratory Science Or A Related Field.
Certification As A Medical Laboratory Technician (Mlt) By The American Society For Clinical Pathology (Ascp) Or Equivalent Organization.
Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience Working In A Clinical Microbiology Laboratory.
Strong Knowledge Of Microbiological Techniques And Procedures, Including But Not Limited To Specimen Processing, Culture Identification, And Antimicrobial Susceptibility Testing.
Ability To Work Efficiently In A Fast-Paced, High-Volume Laboratory Environment While Maintaining Accuracy And Attention To Detail.
