- Oversee and manage the organization's health information systems to ensure accuracy, privacy, and compliance with all regulatory standards.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures related to the management of health information.
- Monitor and ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations, as well as industry standards for health information management.
- Lead and mentor a team of health information professionals, providing guidance and support to ensure efficient and effective operations.
- Ensure the security and integrity of all health information systems and data.
- Collaborate with other departments to develop and implement strategies for improving the accuracy and accessibility of health information.
- Identify areas for improvement and implement process changes to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of health information management.
- Oversee the maintenance and organization of all health records, both physical and electronic.
- Train and educate staff on the proper handling and management of health information, including privacy and security protocols.
- Stay current on industry trends and advancements in health information management to continuously improve processes and systems.
- Prepare and present reports on the performance of the health information management department to upper management.
- Ensure the timely and accurate release of health information to authorized parties.

Bachelor's Degree In Health Information Management Or Related Field: A Manager-Health Information Management At Henry Ford Health System Should Possess A Minimum Of A Bachelor's Degree In Health Information Management Or A Related Field. This Educational Background Provides The Necessary Knowledge And Skills To Effectively Manage Health Information Systems And Processes.
Certified Health Information Management Professional (Chim): The Ideal Candidate Should Have A Valid Chim Certification From A Recognized Professional Organization Such As The American Health Information Management Association (Ahima). This Certification Demonstrates A Strong Understanding Of Health Information Management Principles And Practices.
Minimum Of 5 Years Of Experience In Health Information Management: To Be Considered For The Position, Candidates Should Have A Minimum Of 5 Years Of Experience In A Health Information Management Role. This Experience Should Include Managing Health Information Systems, Overseeing Staff, And Implementing Policies And Procedures.
Strong Leadership And Communication Skills: As A Manager, Strong Leadership And Communication Skills Are Essential For Success In This Role. The Candidate Should Have A Proven Track Record Of Effectively Leading A Team And Communicating With Various Stakeholders, Including Healthcare Providers, Staff, And External Vendors.
Knowledge Of Healthcare Regulations And Compliance: A Manager-Health Information Management At Henry Ford Health System Should Have A Thorough Understanding Of Healthcare Regulations, Such As Hipaa And Hitech, And Be Able To Ensure Compliance Within The Department.
