As an integral member of our labor and delivery unit, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional care to mothers and their newborns during the most special and vulnerable time in their lives.   1. Provide compassionate and high-quality care to mothers and newborns in the labor and delivery unit.
  2. Monitor and assess the progress of labor, and provide necessary interventions and support as needed.
  3. Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
  4. Educate and support mothers and their families on postpartum care and newborn care.
  5. Collaborate with other healthcare team members to ensure coordinated and effective care for patients.
  6. Maintain accurate and thorough documentation of patient care and progress.
  7. Follow established protocols and procedures to ensure patient safety and quality of care.
  8. Advocate for patients' rights and needs.
  9. Stay updated on current best practices and evidence-based research in labor and delivery nursing.
  10. Maintain a calm and supportive demeanor in high-stress situations.
  11. Communicate effectively with patients, families, and colleagues.
  12. Adhere to professional and ethical standards set by the nursing profession.
  13. Participate in ongoing education and training to enhance skills and knowledge.
  14. Maintain a clean and safe environment for patients and staff.
  15. Follow infection control protocols to prevent the spread of diseases and infections.
  16. Handle emergencies and critical situations in a timely and efficient manner.
  17. Provide emotional support and counseling to patients and families during difficult situations.
  18. Serve as a role model for nursing students and new staff members.
  19. Collaborate with the healthcare team to improve patient outcomes and enhance the delivery of care.
  20. Uphold the mission, vision, and values of Henry Ford Health System in all aspects of the job.

Job Qualifications
  • Bls And Acls Certifications.

  • Current And Valid Rn License In The State Of Michigan.

  • Bachelor's Degree In Nursing From An Accredited Institution.

  • Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience In Labor And Delivery Or A Related Area.

  • Ability To Work Collaboratively With A Multidisciplinary Team And Provide High Quality Patient Care.
