- Process and prepare tissue samples for microscopic examination by our pathologists.
- Utilize knowledge of histology techniques to accurately and efficiently perform tasks.
- Ensure proper handling and labeling of specimens to maintain accuracy and integrity of results.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area to meet laboratory standards.
- Operate and maintain laboratory equipment to ensure accurate and efficient processing of specimens.
- Collaborate with pathologists and other team members to provide timely and accurate diagnoses.
- Follow established protocols and procedures to ensure compliance with all regulatory and safety standards.
- Monitor and maintain inventory levels of necessary supplies and reagents.
- Participate in quality control and assurance activities to maintain high standards of laboratory performance.

Bachelor's Degree In Histotechnology Or A Related Field: A Minimum Of A Bachelor's Degree In Histotechnology, Biology, Or A Related Field Is Required For This Position. This Educational Background Ensures That The Candidate Has The Necessary Knowledge And Skills To Perform The Duties Of A Histotechnologist.
Certification As A Histotechnologist: Candidates Should Hold A Certification As A Histotechnologist (Htl) From The American Society For Clinical Pathology (Ascp). This Certification Demonstrates That The Candidate Has Met The Required Standards Of Education, Experience, And Knowledge In The Field Of Histotechnology.
Experience In Surgical Pathology: The Ideal Candidate Should Have At Least 2-3 Years Of Experience Working As A Histotechnologist In A Surgical Pathology Laboratory. This Experience Will Ensure That The Candidate Is Familiar With The Techniques And Procedures Involved In Processing And Analyzing Tissue Samples For Diagnosis.
Knowledge Of Laboratory Equipment And Procedures: The Candidate Should Have A Strong Understanding Of Laboratory Equipment And Procedures Used In Surgical Pathology, Such As Microtomy, Embedding, Staining, And Immunohistochemistry. This Knowledge Is Essential To Ensure Accurate And Timely Processing Of Tissue Samples.
Attention To Detail And Strong Organizational Skills: Histotechnologists Are Responsible For Handling And Processing Delicate Tissue Samples, Which Require A High Level Of Attention To Detail And Precision. Candidates Should Also Possess Strong Organizational Skills To Maintain Accurate Records And Manage Multiple Tasks Efficiently.
