Job Qualifications
  • Medical Degree: A Qualified Candidate For A Hematologist/Oncologist Position At Henry Ford Health System Must Possess A Medical Degree From An Accredited Institution. This Degree Is Typically A Doctor Of Medicine (Md) Or Doctor Of Osteopathic Medicine (Do).

  • Board Certification: Candidates Must Be Board Certified In Both Hematology And Oncology By The American Board Of Internal Medicine (Abim) Or The American Board Of Medical Specialties (Abms). This Demonstrates A High Level Of Knowledge And Expertise In The Field.

  • Residency And Fellowship Training: A Successful Candidate Should Have Completed A Residency And Fellowship Program In Internal Medicine, Hematology, And Oncology At An Accredited Institution. This Provides The Necessary Training And Experience In The Specific Areas Of Focus For This Role.

  • Clinical Experience: Henry Ford Health System Seeks Candidates With A Minimum Of 2-3 Years Of Clinical Experience In Hematology And Oncology. This Experience Should Include Diagnosing And Treating A Variety Of Blood Disorders And Cancer Types, As Well As Managing Patient Care And Collaborating With Multidisciplinary Teams.

  • Communication And Interpersonal Skills: As A Hematologist/Oncologist, Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills Are Essential For Building Relationships With Patients, Their Families, And Other Healthcare Professionals.
