
Exercise Physiologist - Cardiac Testing

- Conduct cardiac testing on patients, including exercise stress tests, pulmonary function tests, and other diagnostic procedures.
- Develop individualized exercise plans based on patient's medical history and current condition.
- Monitor and track patient progress during exercise sessions, adjusting plans as needed.
- Educate patients on the importance of regular exercise for cardiovascular health and provide guidance on proper techniques and safety precautions.
- Collaborate with healthcare team to ensure coordinated and comprehensive care for patients.
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, including test results, exercise plans, and progress notes.
- Stay up-to-date on current research and trends in exercise physiology and cardiovascular health to continuously improve patient care.
- Maintain and calibrate exercise equipment, ensuring safety and accuracy during testing and exercise sessions.
- Communicate effectively with patients, their families, and other healthcare professionals to provide exceptional patient care.
- Adhere to all hospital policies and procedures, as well as ethical and legal standards related to patient care.
- Collaborate with other exercise physiologists and healthcare professionals to develop and implement quality improvement initiatives.
- Attend and participate in departmental meetings, trainings, and conferences to stay informed about new techniques and best practices.
- Provide support and guidance to patients in achieving their exercise and wellness goals.
- Maintain a professional and compassionate demeanor at all times, showing empathy and respect for patients and their families.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe and healthy work environment.
Bachelor's Degree In Exercise Physiology Or Related Field: A Strong Foundation In Exercise Physiology Is Essential For This Role, As It Involves Analyzing And Interpreting Cardiac Testing Results.
Certification From The American College Of Sports Medicine (Acsm): This Certification Demonstrates A High Level Of Knowledge And Expertise In The Field Of Exercise Physiology, Specifically In Relation To Cardiac Testing.
Experience With Cardiac Testing Equipment: Candidates Should Have Experience With Various Types Of Cardiac Testing Equipment, Including Ekgs, Stress Tests, And Echocardiograms.
Knowledge Of Cardiac Conditions And Treatments: A Thorough Understanding Of Common Cardiac Conditions And Their Corresponding Treatments Is Crucial For Accurately Interpreting And Reporting On Cardiac Testing Results.
Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills: As An Exercise Physiologist - Cardiac Testing, The Ability To Effectively Communicate With Patients And Healthcare Professionals Is Essential. This Includes Explaining Test Results, Answering Questions, And Collaborating With Other Members Of The Healthcare Team.
