As a Credentialing Specialist, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that all healthcare providers within our system are properly credentialed and meet the necessary qualifications.   1. Verify and maintain accurate records of all healthcare providers' credentials, including licenses, certifications, and malpractice insurance.
  2. Coordinate and facilitate the credentialing process for new providers joining the healthcare system.
  3. Ensure compliance with all regulatory and accreditation standards related to credentialing.
  4. Conduct thorough background checks and primary source verifications for all providers.
  5. Communicate with various departments and stakeholders to gather necessary information and documentation for credentialing.
  6. Monitor and track expiration dates for all credentials and initiate the recredentialing process in a timely manner.
  7. Collaborate with the Medical Staff Office and Medical Director to review and approve or deny applications for credentialing.
  8. Serve as a resource for providers and staff regarding credentialing policies and procedures.
  9. Regularly review and update credentialing policies and procedures to maintain compliance with industry standards.
  10. Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
  11. Attend meetings and training sessions to stay current on credentialing regulations and best practices.
  12. Utilize credentialing software and databases to accurately document and track credentialing information.
  13. Assist in resolving any credentialing-related issues or discrepancies.
  14. Continuously evaluate and improve the credentialing process to ensure efficiency and accuracy.
  15. Adhere to the mission, vision, and values of Henry Ford Health System.

Job Qualifications
  • Strong Attention To Detail And Ability To Maintain Accurate And Organized Records.

  • Bachelor's Degree In Healthcare Administration, Business, Or A Related Field.

  • Minimum Of 2 Years Experience In Healthcare Credentialing, Preferably In A Hospital Or Healthcare System Setting.

  • Knowledge And Understanding Of Credentialing Processes And Regulations, Including Joint Commission And Ncqa Standards.

  • Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Work Collaboratively With Various Departments And External Stakeholders.
