As an Athletic Trainer, you will play a crucial role in providing preventative care, emergency treatment, and rehabilitation services to student-athletes.   1. Provide preventative care: The Athletic Trainer will be responsible for assessing and identifying potential injuries or health issues in student-athletes and implementing strategies to prevent them from occurring.
  2. Emergency treatment: In the event of a sports-related injury or medical emergency, the Athletic Trainer will be responsible for providing immediate care and stabilizing the athlete until further medical assistance can be obtained.
  3. Rehabilitation services: The Athletic Trainer will develop and implement rehabilitation programs for injured student-athletes to aid in their recovery and return to play.
  4. Conduct evaluations: The Athletic Trainer will perform comprehensive evaluations of student-athletes to determine their readiness to participate in sports activities and identify any potential health risks.
  5. Educate student-athletes: The Athletic Trainer will educate student-athletes on injury prevention, proper nutrition, and other factors that contribute to overall wellness and athletic performance.
  6. Collaborate with coaches and medical staff: The Athletic Trainer will work closely with coaches and other medical professionals to develop and implement training programs that will optimize the performance and health of student-athletes.
  7. Maintain records: The Athletic Trainer will be responsible for maintaining accurate and up-to-date medical records for all student-athletes, including injury reports and treatment plans.
  8. Stay current with industry trends: The Athletic Trainer will stay updated on the latest trends and advancements in sports medicine to ensure the most effective and up-to-date care for student-athletes.
  9. Participate in team meetings: The Athletic Trainer will attend team meetings to discuss injury prevention strategies, provide updates on injured athletes, and collaborate on the overall wellness of the team.
  10. Promote a healthy and active lifestyle: The Athletic Trainer will serve as a role model and advocate for a healthy and active lifestyle, promoting the overall wellness of student-athletes both on and off the field.

Job Qualifications
  • Certification By The National Athletic Trainers' Association Board Of Certification (Nataboc).

  • Bachelor's Degree In Athletic Training Or Related Field.

  • Valid Licensure As An Athletic Trainer In The State Of Michigan.

  • Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience Working As An Athletic Trainer At The High School Level.

  • Strong Knowledge And Understanding Of Sports Injuries, Prevention, Treatment, And Rehabilitation Techniques.
