  1. Perform dialysis treatments on acute care patients according to established protocols and procedures.
  2. Monitor patient vital signs and assess for any changes or complications during dialysis treatment.
  3. Ensure proper functioning of dialysis equipment and troubleshoot any issues that may arise.
  4. Maintain accurate and complete patient records and document all treatments and observations.
  5. Communicate effectively with healthcare team members to provide coordinated and comprehensive patient care.
  6. Implement infection control measures to prevent the spread of infection and maintain a safe environment for patients.
  7. Educate patients and their families on dialysis procedures, self-care techniques, and medication management.
  8. Assure patient safety and comfort during dialysis treatments and address any concerns or questions they may have.
  9. Adhere to all regulatory and safety standards, including HIPAA and OSHA guidelines.
  10. Participate in continuous education and training to stay updated on new dialysis techniques and technologies.
  11. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized treatment plans for patients.
  12. Maintain inventory and stock of necessary supplies and equipment for the dialysis unit.
  13. Demonstrate professionalism, compassion, and empathy towards patients and their families.
  14. Remain calm and composed in high-stress situations and problem-solve quickly and effectively.
  15. Uphold and promote the mission, values, and standards of the healthcare organization.

Job Qualifications
  • Certified Hemodialysis Technician (Cht) Credential From A Nationally Recognized Organization Such As The National Nephrology Certification Organization (Nnco) Or The Board Of Nephrology Examiners Nursing And Technology (Bonent).

  • Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience Working As A Dialysis Technician In An Acute Care Setting.

  • Knowledge And Understanding Of All Aspects Of Acute Hemodialysis Procedures, Including Equipment Setup, Patient Monitoring, And Troubleshooting.

  • Familiarity With Electronic Medical Record Systems And Ability To Accurately Document Patient Information.

  • Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Work Collaboratively With A Multidisciplinary Team And Provide Compassionate Care To Patients And Their Families.
