  1. Oversee all aspects of video production and editing for the San Francisco Chronicle, including ideation, shooting, and post-production.
  2. Collaborate with writers, reporters, and editors to develop video content that complements and enhances written articles.
  3. Stay up-to-date on industry trends and best practices in video production and editing, and incorporate them into the Chronicle's visual storytelling.
  4. Manage a team of videographers and video editors, providing guidance and feedback to ensure the highest quality of work.
  5. Develop and maintain relationships with external vendors and freelancers for specialized video projects.
  6. Maintain a consistent brand aesthetic and style for video content across all platforms.
  7. Ensure all video content meets legal and ethical standards.
  8. Work closely with the digital team to optimize video content for various platforms, including social media and the Chronicle's website.
  9. Continuously monitor and analyze video metrics to inform future content decisions.
  10. Stay organized and meet tight deadlines while juggling multiple projects simultaneously.
  11. Maintain and manage the visual assets library, ensuring easy access for the team.
  12. Collaborate with the marketing department to promote video content and increase audience engagement.
  13. Act as a representative of the Chronicle's video team at industry events and conferences.
  14. Actively seek out and pitch new ideas for video content that aligns with the Chronicle's brand and audience.
  15. Foster a positive and collaborative work environment that encourages creativity and innovation.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Journalism, Film Studies, Or A Related Field.

  • 3-5 Years Of Experience In Video Production And Editing, Preferably In A Newsroom Setting.

  • Proficiency In Adobe Creative Suite, Including Premiere Pro, After Effects, And Photoshop.

  • Strong Visual Storytelling Skills And An Eye For Detail And Composition.

  • Ability To Work Efficiently Under Tight Deadlines And Collaborate With A Team In A Fast-Paced Environment.
