The Hearst Journalism Fellowship Program provides fellows with the opportunity to engage in investigative journalism projects and produce data visualizations to strengthen storytelling.We are looking for a highly motivated individual with a passion for data visualization and journalism. Applicants should have a minimum of three years of experience in data visualization and working with coding languages and data analysis software. Responsibilities:

  1. Work collaboratively with Hearst's editorial staff to develop data visualizations for investigative journalism projects.
  2. Design and create interactive data visualizations for web and mobile platforms.
  3. Utilize coding languages and data analysis software to create engaging visualizations.
  4. Analyze data sets and develop visualizations that accurately represent the results.
  5. Utilize best practices to ensure data visualizations are engaging, accessible, and reliable.
  6. Develop presentations and other materials used to explain and discuss data visualizations.
  7. Monitor trends in data visualization and journalism to develop innovative solutions.
  8. Maintain a high level of journalistic ethics and integrity.
