- Develop and implement content strategy for assigned publications, in alignment with overall company goals and objectives.
- Identify and commission talented writers, photographers, and other creatives to produce compelling and relevant content.
- Collaborate with editorial team to brainstorm and pitch engaging story ideas and features.
- Review and evaluate pitches and submissions, providing constructive feedback and direction to writers to ensure high-quality content.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends, market demands, and audience preferences to guide content decisions.
- Manage the editorial budget and ensure efficient use of resources.
- Work closely with designers, photographers, and other production team members to ensure that content is visually appealing and meets brand standards.
- Maintain relationships with external contributors and negotiate contracts and fees.
- Edit and proofread content for accuracy, clarity, and style.
- Ensure timely delivery of content and meet publication deadlines.
- Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to promote content and increase readership.
- Serve as a brand ambassador and represent Hearst Corporation at industry events and conferences.
- Mentor and coach junior editorial staff to develop their skills and support their professional growth.
- Monitor and analyze readership data to inform content decisions and identify areas for improvement.
- Uphold company values and maintain a positive and collaborative work environment.
Bachelor's Degree In Journalism, Communications, Or A Related Field.
Minimum Of 5 Years Experience In A Commissioning Editor Or Editorial Role.
Strong Understanding Of The Media Landscape And Trends In Digital Content.
Proven Track Record Of Successful Commissioning And Editing Of High-Quality Content.
Excellent Written And Verbal Communication Skills, With A Keen Eye For Detail And Ability To Work Under Tight Deadlines.
