  1. Accurately code and abstract inpatient records using ICD-10-CM and CPT coding guidelines.
  2. Ensure timely and accurate submission of coded data for reimbursement and compliance purposes.
  3. Collaborate with healthcare providers and clinical staff to obtain necessary documentation for accurate coding and billing.
  4. Stay updated on coding and billing regulations and guidelines to ensure compliance.
  5. Maintain confidentiality and security of patient information.
  6. Utilize coding software and electronic health record systems effectively.
  7. Communicate any coding or documentation discrepancies to the appropriate parties for resolution.
  8. Participate in coding audits and quality improvement initiatives.
  9. Provide training and education to healthcare providers and staff on coding and documentation best practices.
  10. Maintain productivity and accuracy standards set by the organization.
  11. Serve as a resource for coding-related inquiries and provide guidance to team members.
  12. Assist with coding-related denials and appeals.
  13. Ensure all coding is completed within designated timelines.
  14. Adhere to ethical and professional coding standards.

Job Qualifications
  • Certified Coding Specialist (Ccs) Or Certified Professional Coder (Cpc) Certification From Ahima Or Aapc.

  • Minimum Of 2 Years Of Inpatient Coding Experience In A Healthcare Setting.

  • Thorough Understanding Of Icd-10-Cm And Pcs Coding Guidelines.

  • Proficiency In Using Electronic Health Record (Ehr) Systems And Coding Software.

  • Strong Analytical And Critical Thinking Skills, With The Ability To Accurately Assign Codes And Review Medical Records For Completeness And Accuracy.
