
Director of Patient Safety

The ideal candidate for this role will have a passion for problem solving, an eye for detail, and the ability to lead with confidence.The Director of Patient Safety is responsible for directing and managing the safety and risk management programs of the organization. This includes developing, implementing and evaluating strategies to prevent medical errors and reduce risk. The Director will also provide guidance and support to healthcare teams to ensure compliance with safety regulations and standards.The successful candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree in health administration, nursing, or a related field and a minimum of five years of experience in a healthcare management role. They must have experience in patient safety or risk management, and be familiar with relevant industry standards and regulations. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are a must, as well as the ability to work collaboratively with various departments and stakeholders. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, results-driven, and have the ability to think critically and make sound decisions.
Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and evaluate strategies to prevent medical errors and reduce risk.
- Provide guidance and support to healthcare teams to ensure compliance with safety regulations and standards.
- Monitor patient safety programs to ensure effectiveness and identify areas for improvement.
- Collaborate with various departments and stakeholders to ensure quality patient care.
- Develop and maintain relationships with external stakeholders to ensure regulatory compliance.
- Evaluate data and metrics to measure the effectiveness of safety programs and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Train and mentor team members on patient safety protocols and procedures.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry standards and regulations related to patient safety.
- Prepare and present reports to management on patient safety initiatives.
- Develop and implement patient safety initiatives to improve outcomes.
