
Staff Electrical and Embedded Systems Engineer
Manage research and development efforts related to embedded systems and contribute to software (C/C++ and Python) development across common low-power microprocessor families (PIC, ARM, etc.). Collaborate with researchers on the implementation of real-time signal processing and control algorithms using various sensors and actuators. Utilize an in-depth knowledge of motor driver programming and motor control to develop, optimize, and debug wearable robotic systems. Review and maintain electrical hardware design (understand schematics, probe signals, and debug embedded systems) as part of ongoing system development, support, and optimization efforts. Participate in custom circuit design and PCB layouts in collaboration with other project team members and interface with outside vendors to fabricate necessary components. Leverage electrical safety compliance, testing, and quality standards to ensure research devices seeing regular human interaction do so safely and reliably. Provide guidance to researchers and staff on these processes. Mentor staff, researchers, and students, providing leadership and expertise in the field of embedded systems and electrical engineering.
Minimum 5 years of experience in research and/or product development.
Extensive experience with real-time operating systems and embedded systems with hard real-time requirements.
Extensive experience in analog and digital circuit design, PCB layout, and device performance simulation
