- Curate and maintain the music collection in the library, including selecting new materials, organizing and cataloging resources, and ensuring the collection is up-to-date and relevant to the needs of the community.
- Collaborate with faculty and students to understand their research and educational needs, and provide assistance in locating and utilizing resources to enhance their learning experience.
- Develop and implement innovative programs and initiatives to engage and inspire the community, such as music workshops, performances, and educational events.
- Provide exceptional customer service to all library patrons, including assisting with research, answering questions, and helping with technology and equipment usage.
- Stay current on trends and developments in the music field, and make recommendations for new resources and technologies to enhance the library's collection and services.
- Work closely with other members of the library team to ensure efficient operations and a cohesive approach to providing services to the community.
- Collaborate with other departments and organizations on campus to promote the library's resources and events, and to develop partnerships and collaborations.
- Contribute to the library's online presence by creating and maintaining music-related content for the website and social media platforms.
- Maintain accurate records and statistics related to library usage, programs, and collection maintenance.
- Attend professional development opportunities to continuously improve knowledge and skills related to music librarianship and customer service.
A Master's Degree In Library Science Or A Related Field, With A Focus On Music Librarianship Or Musicology.
Extensive Knowledge Of Music History, Theory, And Repertoire From Various Cultural And Historical Perspectives.
Experience In Developing And Implementing Educational Programs And Initiatives Related To Music And/Or Library Services.
Familiarity With Current Trends And Best Practices In Music Librarianship, Including Digital Resources And Technologies.
Strong Communication And Collaboration Skills, With The Ability To Work Effectively With Faculty, Students, And Other Stakeholders In A Diverse Academic Community.
