  1. Develop and implement comprehensive digital strategies to enhance the accessibility and impact of the department's collections.
  2. Lead and manage a team of digital archivists and technicians to ensure the successful execution of digital projects and initiatives.
  3. Work closely with other departments within the institution to identify and prioritize digital preservation needs and opportunities.
  4. Stay current with emerging technologies and trends in digital preservation, and make recommendations for their implementation in the department.
  5. Collaborate with external partners and vendors to acquire and manage digital assets and services.
  6. Oversee the digitization process of physical materials, ensuring high quality and adherence to preservation standards.
  7. Ensure the proper curation and preservation of born-digital materials, including web archives, social media, and electronic records.
  8. Develop and maintain policies and procedures for the management and preservation of digital materials.
  9. Manage the department's digital repository and ensure its functionality and usability for researchers and staff.
  10. Provide training and support to staff and researchers on the use of digital tools and resources.
  11. Collaborate with the department's outreach team to promote the collections and services through digital platforms.
  12. Advocate for diversity and inclusivity in all digital initiatives, ensuring accessibility for diverse audiences and promoting underrepresented voices.
  13. Monitor and report on the department's digital initiatives, including usage statistics and user feedback.
  14. Collaborate with other institutions and organizations to share knowledge and best practices in digital preservation and access.

Job Qualifications
  • Extensive Experience In Developing And Implementing Digital Strategies For Archives And Special Collections, Preferably Within A Large Academic Institution.

  • Strong Knowledge Of Current Trends And Best Practices In Digital Preservation, Access, And Management Within The Cultural Heritage Sector.

  • Demonstrated Expertise In Project Management, Including The Ability To Oversee Multiple Complex Projects And Meet Deadlines.

  • Proven Track Record Of Successful Collaboration With Cross-Functional Teams And Stakeholders, Including Academic Faculty, Researchers, And Technology Professionals.

  • Excellent Communication And Leadership Skills, With The Ability To Effectively Advocate For The Value And Impact Of Archives And Special Collections In A Digital Environment.
