  1. Manage and organize large collections of archival materials, including sorting, cataloguing, and storing items according to established standards.
  2. Conduct surveys of existing archival collections to identify materials in need of preservation and digitization.
  3. Develop and implement preservation plans for fragile or at-risk materials.
  4. Collaborate with other archivists and researchers to ensure accurate and efficient access to archival materials.
  5. Digitize and create metadata for archival materials to increase accessibility and preserve original materials.
  6. Monitor and maintain the physical condition of archival materials, including temperature and humidity control.
  7. Utilize archival software and databases to manage and track collections.
  8. Stay up-to-date with current trends and best practices in archival management and preservation.
  9. Assist in the planning and execution of outreach and educational programs to promote the use and understanding of archival materials.
  10. Communicate and collaborate with donors and potential donors to acquire new collections for the archives.
  11. Adhere to ethical and legal standards related to the acquisition, preservation, and access of archival materials.
  12. Train and supervise interns and volunteers in archival procedures and best practices.
  13. Maintain accurate records and documentation of all archival activities.
  14. Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to the development of policies and procedures for the archives.
  15. Represent the archives at conferences, workshops, and other professional events.

Job Qualifications
  • Master's Degree In Library And Information Science, Archival Studies, Or A Related Field.

  • Minimum Of 3-5 Years Of Experience Working In An Archival Setting, Preferably In A University Or Academic Environment.

  • Proficiency In Archival Principles, Practices, And Standards, Including Arrangement And Description, Preservation, And Access.

  • Experience With Archival Software And Digital Asset Management Systems, Such As Archivesspace Or Preservica.

  • Excellent Research, Analytical, And Organizational Skills, With The Ability To Manage Multiple Projects And Meet Deadlines.
