  1. Oversee the daily operations of the produce department, including ordering, stocking, and maintaining inventory levels to ensure an ample supply of fresh, high-quality produce for customers.
  2. Train, develop, and lead a team of produce department employees, providing guidance and support to ensure they are knowledgeable about products, customer service, and department procedures.
  3. Create and implement strategies to achieve sales goals and increase profitability, while also monitoring and analyzing sales data to identify areas for improvement.
  4. Maintain a clean and organized department, adhering to all health and safety regulations and company policies.
  5. Foster a positive and customer-focused work environment, where exceptional customer service is a top priority.
  6. Collaborate with other department managers to ensure proper coordination and execution of store-wide promotions and events involving produce.
  7. Stay up-to-date on industry trends and market conditions to make informed decisions about product selection and pricing.
  8. Resolve customer complaints and concerns in a timely and professional manner, ensuring a positive shopping experience for all customers.
  9. Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide ongoing feedback and coaching to team members to promote growth and development.
  10. Monitor and manage expenses, including labor and inventory costs, to ensure the department operates within budget.
  11. Stay informed about H-E-B policies and procedures, and ensure compliance of all employees within the produce department.
  12. Continuously seek ways to improve processes and procedures to enhance the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the produce department.
