If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to join our team as a Produce Manager at H-E-B! As a Produce Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our produce department, ensuring that our customers receive the freshest and highest quality produce. We are looking for a detail-oriented and customer-focused individual with previous experience in produce management. If you have a strong understanding of produce merchandising, ordering, and inventory control, and a desire to lead and develop a team, we would love to hear from you!

  1. Oversee the daily operations of the produce department, including scheduling, stocking, and maintaining inventory levels.
  2. Ensure that all produce is fresh, high-quality, and properly displayed to attract and meet the needs of our customers.
  3. Train and develop team members in all aspects of produce management, including proper handling and storing of produce, customer service, and merchandising techniques.
  4. Create and implement strategies to increase sales and promote new produce items.
  5. Monitor and analyze sales data to make informed decisions regarding ordering and inventory control.
  6. Maintain a clean, organized, and visually appealing produce department, adhering to company standards and regulations.
  7. Collaborate with other department managers to ensure overall store goals and objectives are met.
  8. Handle and resolve customer complaints and inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
  9. Ensure compliance with food safety and sanitation regulations.
  10. Monitor and adjust pricing to maintain competitiveness and profitability.
  11. Conduct regular departmental meetings to discuss goals, sales trends, and provide training opportunities.
  12. Keep up-to-date with industry trends, new products, and produce-related technology advancements.
  13. Proactively identify and address any potential issues or challenges that may arise within the produce department.
  14. Manage and track department expenses, including labor, supplies, and equipment.
  15. Foster a positive and collaborative work environment, promoting teamwork and open communication among team members.

Job Qualifications

  • Knowledge Of Produce Industry And Products: A Successful Produce Manager At H-E-B Should Have A Thorough Understanding Of The Produce Industry, Including Knowledge Of Different Fruits And Vegetables, Seasonal Availability, And Quality Standards.

  • Experience In Managing A Team: The Produce Manager Will Oversee A Team Of Employees, So Experience In Managing And Leading A Team Is Essential. This Includes Skills In Delegation, Communication, And Conflict Resolution.

  • Familiarity With Merchandising And Inventory Management: The Produce Manager Is Responsible For Ensuring The Produce Department Is Well-Stocked And Visually Appealing To Customers. Therefore, Experience In Merchandising And Inventory Management Is Important.

  • Strong Customer Service Skills: As A Representative Of H-E-B, The Produce Manager Must Have Excellent Customer Service Skills. This Includes The Ability To Interact With Customers In A Friendly And Helpful Manner, As Well As Handle Any Customer Complaints Or Questions.

  • Physical Stamina And Ability To Work In A Fast-Paced Environment: Working In A Produce Department Can Be Physically Demanding, Requiring The Ability To Lift And Move Heavy Objects. The Produce Manager Should Also Be Able To Work Efficiently In A Fast-Paced Environment, Ensuring That The Department Runs Smoothly And Meets Customer Demand.
