  1. Ensure the freshness and quality of all perishable products in the store
  2. Follow food safety guidelines and protocols to maintain the highest standards
  3. Provide exceptional customer service by assisting and educating customers on product selection, storage, and preparation
  4. Receive, inspect, and rotate products to ensure proper inventory management
  5. Monitor and maintain proper temperature and sanitation levels in all perishable departments
  6. Assist in ordering and stocking of products, ensuring adequate inventory levels
  7. Collaborate with other team members to maintain a clean and organized work environment
  8. Stay up-to-date with industry trends and changes in regulations related to perishable products
  9. Handle customer inquiries, complaints, and special requests in a professional and timely manner
  10. Adhere to company policies and procedures, including safety and health regulations
  11. Attend training and development sessions to enhance knowledge and skills
  12. Assist in maintaining and updating product displays and signage
  13. Perform other related tasks and duties as assigned by management.

  • Knowledge Of Perishable Products: A Successful Perishables Representative At H-E-B Should Have A Strong Understanding Of The Different Types Of Perishable Products Such As Fresh Produce, Meat, Dairy, And Bakery Items. This Knowledge Will Be Essential In Assisting Customers And Ensuring The Quality Of The Products.

  • Customer Service Skills: As A Perishables Representative, You Will Be Interacting With Customers On A Daily Basis. Therefore, Having Excellent Customer Service Skills Is Crucial. This Includes Being Friendly, Approachable, And Having The Ability To Handle Customer Complaints And Inquiries Effectively.

  • Attention To Detail: This Role Requires A High Level Of Accuracy And Attention To Detail. Perishable Products Have A Shorter Shelf Life, And It Is The Responsibility Of The Perishables Representative To Ensure That All Products Are Properly Labeled, Rotated, And Maintained At The Correct Temperature To Maintain Freshness And Quality.

  • Physical Stamina: Working In The Perishables Department Can Be Physically Demanding. The Perishables Representative Must Be Able To Lift And Move Heavy Items, Stand For Long Periods, And Work In A Fast-Paced Environment.

  • Food Safety Knowledge: H-E-B Places A High Emphasis On Food Safety And Requires All Employees To Have A Basic Understanding Of Food Safety Regulations. A Perishables Representative Should Be Knowledgeable About Proper Food Handling, Storage, And Sanitation Practices To Ensure The Safety Of Customers And Compliance With Health Codes.
