Perishables Representative

In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the availability, freshness, and quality of our perishable items, as well as providing excellent customer service. - Provide exceptional customer service by greeting and assisting customers in a friendly and professional manner.
- Ensure the availability, freshness, and quality of perishable products by monitoring inventory levels, rotating stock, and following proper food safety procedures.
- Demonstrate extensive knowledge of all perishable products offered and be able to make recommendations to customers based on their needs.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, including display cases and storage areas, to meet company standards.
- Assist with receiving and stocking of perishable products, including checking for quality and accuracy of deliveries.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely restocking of shelves and displays.
- Provide support to other departments as needed, including assisting with overall store cleanliness and maintenance.
- Continuously strive to increase sales and promote customer loyalty by upselling and cross-selling products.
- Participate in training and development programs to stay updated on product knowledge and safety procedures.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including safety guidelines, to maintain a positive and professional work environment.
- Proactively identify and resolve any customer issues or concerns.
- Maintain a positive attitude and foster a team-oriented atmosphere within the department.
- Meet or exceed performance expectations, including sales goals and customer satisfaction metrics.
- Continuously seek opportunities to improve processes and contribute to the overall success of the department and store.
Knowledge Of Perishable Products: A Perishables Representative At H-E-B Must Have A Deep Understanding Of The Various Perishable Products Sold By The Company, Including Fresh Produce, Meat, Seafood, And Dairy. This Includes Knowledge Of Product Quality, Storage, And Handling Procedures.
Customer Service Skills: As The Main Point Of Contact For Customers In The Perishables Department, A Perishables Representative Must Have Excellent Customer Service Skills. This Includes The Ability To Communicate Effectively, Resolve Customer Complaints, And Provide Helpful Recommendations And Advice.
Food Safety And Sanitation Knowledge: Given The Perishable Nature Of The Products Being Sold, It Is Essential For A Perishables Representative To Have A Strong Understanding Of Food Safety And Sanitation Practices. This Includes Knowledge Of Proper Handling, Storage, And Temperature Control To Ensure The Safety And Quality Of The Products.
Sales And Merchandising Experience: The Role Of A Perishables Representative Involves Actively Promoting And Selling Perishable Products To Customers. Therefore, Candidates For This Position Should Have Experience In Sales And Merchandising, Including The Ability To Create Appealing Displays And Provide Product Information To Customers.
Physical Stamina: Working In The Perishables Department At H-E-B Can Be Physically Demanding, As It Often Involves Lifting, Carrying, And Stocking Heavy Items. A Perishables Representative Should Be Physically Fit And Able To Perform These Tasks For Extended Periods Of Time.
