  1. Develop and implement merchandising strategies to drive sales and enhance the overall shopping experience for customers.
  2. Oversee the daily operations of the general merchandise department, including inventory management, product placement, and pricing.
  3. Train, mentor, and supervise a team of general merchandise employees, ensuring excellent customer service and adherence to company policies and procedures.
  4. Collaborate with other department managers to ensure a cohesive and seamless shopping experience for customers.
  5. Monitor sales and inventory data to identify trends and make data-driven decisions to optimize product offerings and increase profitability.
  6. Conduct regular store walks to assess the presentation and organization of products and make necessary adjustments.
  7. Set and meet sales and profit goals for the general merchandise department.
  8. Manage vendor relationships and negotiate pricing and promotions to maximize profitability.
  9. Stay up-to-date with industry trends and competitor offerings to continuously improve the general merchandise department.
  10. Ensure compliance with all safety and sanitation standards in the department.
  11. Resolve customer complaints and concerns in a timely and professional manner.
  12. Develop and maintain a positive working relationship with all team members and foster a culture of teamwork and collaboration.
  13. Communicate effectively with upper management and provide regular updates on department performance and initiatives.
  14. Participate in hiring, training, and evaluating employees to maintain a high-performing team.
  15. Ensure all departmental policies and procedures are followed, including but not limited to cash handling, inventory control, and safety protocols.

Job Qualifications
  • Minimum Of 5-7 Years Of Experience In A Retail Management Role, Preferably In A General Merchandise Department.

  • Bachelor's Degree In Business, Retail Management, Or A Related Field.

  • Strong Leadership And Communication Skills, With The Ability To Effectively Manage And Develop A Team.

  • Proven Track Record Of Driving Sales And Profitability Through Effective Merchandising Strategies And Inventory Management.

  • In-Depth Knowledge Of Retail Industry Trends And Consumer Behavior, With The Ability To Use Data And Analytics To Make Informed Business Decisions.
