- Oversee the buying process for the general merchandise department, including sourcing new products and negotiating with suppliers to ensure the best deals.
- Develop and implement merchandising strategies to drive sales and increase customer satisfaction.
- Monitor and analyze sales data to identify trends and make informed decisions about product assortment and pricing.
- Manage inventory levels and ensure efficient stock replenishment to meet customer demand.
- Train, coach, and mentor team members to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their job duties effectively.
- Set sales targets and monitor performance to ensure goals are being met.
- Collaborate with other departments and teams to create cross-promotional opportunities and drive sales.
- Stay informed about industry trends and competition, and make recommendations for improvements and changes to the general merchandise department.
- Ensure all products are properly displayed and maintained to meet company standards and enhance the overall shopping experience for customers.
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with suppliers to ensure timely and accurate delivery of merchandise.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures, as well as state and federal regulations.
- Conduct regular evaluations of the general merchandise department and make recommendations for improvements and cost-saving measures.
- Handle customer inquiries and resolve any issues or complaints related to the general merchandise department.
- Prepare and present reports on sales, inventory, and other key performance indicators to senior management.
- Lead by example and promote a positive and customer-focused work culture.
Bachelor's Degree In Business Administration, Retail Management, Or A Related Field.
Minimum Of 5 Years Of Experience In Retail Management, With At Least 2 Years In A Leadership Role.
Strong Understanding Of Merchandising Principles, Inventory Management, And Retail Operations.
Excellent Communication And Leadership Skills, With The Ability To Motivate And Develop A Team.
Proven Track Record Of Driving Sales And Profitability Through Effective Merchandising Strategies And Initiatives.
