
General Merchandise Manager

- Develop and implement strategies to drive sales and increase profitability in the general merchandise department.
- Manage and oversee the purchasing process for all general merchandise products, ensuring a diverse and high-quality selection for customers.
- Maintain accurate and efficient inventory levels by regularly reviewing sales data and forecasting future demand.
- Lead and motivate a team of general merchandise associates, providing guidance, support, and training to ensure their success.
- Monitor and evaluate team performance, providing regular feedback and implementing corrective action plans as needed.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures, as well as state and federal regulations.
- Collaborate with other department managers to develop cross-merchandising opportunities and create a cohesive shopping experience for customers.
- Continuously review and improve merchandising displays and layouts to maximize sales and enhance the customer experience.
- Oversee pricing and promotional strategies for general merchandise products, ensuring competitive pricing and effective promotions.
- Address and resolve customer complaints or concerns in a timely and professional manner to maintain high levels of customer satisfaction.
- Stay updated on industry trends, competitor strategies, and customer preferences to make informed business decisions.
- Manage department budget and expenses to ensure financial targets are met.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide development opportunities for team members to foster a culture of continuous learning and growth.
- Serve as a brand ambassador for H-E-B, promoting our company values and commitment to excellence.
Excellent Analytical And Problem-Solving Abilities.
Bachelor's Degree In Business Administration, Merchandising, Or A Related Field.
Minimum Of 5 Years Experience In A Retail Management Role, Preferably In The Grocery Industry.
Strong Leadership Skills And Ability To Manage A Large Team.
Proven Track Record Of Driving Sales And Increasing Profitability In A Retail Environment.
