  1. Develop and implement merchandising strategies to enhance the customer shopping experience.
  2. Monitor and analyze sales data to identify trends and make informed decisions on product selection and placement.
  3. Collaborate with vendors and suppliers to negotiate and secure the best deals for the company.
  4. Train and supervise a team of merchandising staff to ensure high quality standards and consistency in product presentation.
  5. Conduct regular store walkthroughs to ensure proper product placement and availability.
  6. Create visually appealing and organized displays that effectively showcase products and drive sales.
  7. Ensure inventory levels are maintained and appropriate ordering and restocking processes are in place.
  8. Stay updated on industry trends, customer preferences, and competitor activities to inform merchandising decisions.
  9. Work closely with other department managers to coordinate promotions, sales, and events.
  10. Maintain a clean and organized store environment, ensuring safety and compliance with company policies and procedures.
  11. Handle customer inquiries and complaints related to merchandise in a professional and timely manner.
  12. Develop and manage budgets for the general merchandise department, tracking expenses and identifying areas for cost savings.
  13. Continuously seek out new products and trends to keep the store's inventory fresh and competitive.
  14. Collaborate with the marketing team to create effective advertising and promotional campaigns for general merchandise.
  15. Act as a brand ambassador for the company, upholding its values and promoting a positive image to customers and employees.

  • Retail Management Experience: The Ideal Candidate For The General Merchandise Manager Position At H-E-B Should Have At Least 5 Years Of Experience In Managing A Large Retail Store Or Department.

  • Strong Leadership Skills: As The Head Of The General Merchandise Department, The Candidate Should Have Excellent Leadership Skills To Effectively Manage A Team Of Employees And Drive Them Towards Achieving Sales Targets.
