- Develop and implement strategies for the buying, merchandising, and inventory management of non-food categories in our stores.
- Analyze sales data and market trends to identify opportunities for growth and improvement in the general merchandise department.
- Ensure that all merchandise is displayed in an attractive and organized manner, following company standards and guidelines.
- Collaborate with vendors and suppliers to negotiate terms, pricing, and promotions.
- Train and supervise a team of general merchandise staff, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
- Monitor inventory levels and make appropriate adjustments to optimize stock levels and minimize loss.
- Communicate effectively with other department managers to ensure a cohesive and well-coordinated store operation.
- Conduct regular store walkthroughs to assess visual presentation and ensure compliance with company standards.
- Work closely with the marketing team to plan and execute promotions and events to drive sales and engage customers.
- Stay updated on industry trends and competition, making recommendations for improvements and adjustments to stay ahead of the market.
- Ensure a high level of customer service is provided by all general merchandise staff, resolving any customer complaints or issues in a timely and satisfactory manner.
- Monitor and adhere to budgetary guidelines for the general merchandise department, making adjustments as needed to achieve financial goals.
Bachelor's Degree In Business, Retail Management, Or A Related Field
Minimum Of 5 Years Experience In Merchandising And Purchasing For A Retail Environment
Strong Leadership And Management Skills, With Experience Overseeing A Team Of Merchandising And Purchasing Professionals
Extensive Knowledge Of Retail Industry Trends, Consumer Behavior, And Competitor Analysis
Excellent Communication And Negotiation Skills, With The Ability To Build And Maintain Relationships With Vendors And Suppliers.
