We are currently seeking a Part-Time Perishables Rep for our Austin 26 (Parmer/Whitestone) Seafood department.   1. Greet and welcome customers to the seafood department, providing a warm and friendly atmosphere.
  2. Ensure all seafood products are properly displayed, labeled, and priced according to company standards.
  3. Assist customers in selecting high-quality seafood products and providing recommendations based on their preferences.
  4. Maintain a thorough knowledge of all seafood products, including origin, freshness, and cooking methods.
  5. Handle customer inquiries and concerns in a professional and courteous manner, striving to exceed their expectations.
  6. Keep the seafood department clean, organized, and well-stocked at all times.
  7. Monitor and rotate seafood products to ensure freshness and minimize waste.
  8. Adhere to all food safety and sanitation guidelines to ensure the highest level of quality and safety for customers.
  9. Collaborate with team members to create attractive and eye-catching displays to promote sales.
  10. Continuously learn and develop new skills to enhance customer service and product knowledge.
  11. Assist with inventory management, receiving and stocking of products, and maintaining accurate records.
  12. Follow company policies and procedures, including cash handling and safety protocols.
  13. Perform other tasks as assigned by the seafood department manager or store management.

Job Qualifications

  • Knowledge And Experience In The Seafood Industry: This Position Requires A Strong Understanding Of Seafood Products, Including Different Types Of Fish, Shellfish, And Other Perishable Items. Candidates Should Have Previous Experience Working With Seafood, Whether It Be In A Retail Or Foodservice Setting.

  • Food Safety And Sanitation Training: As A Seafood Perishables Rep, It Is Crucial To Ensure That All Products Are Handled And Stored Properly To Maintain Quality And Safety. Candidates Should Have Training And Certification In Food Safety And Sanitation Practices.

  • Customer Service Skills: This Role Involves Interacting With Customers On A Daily Basis, So Candidates Should Have Excellent Customer Service Skills. This Includes The Ability To Communicate Effectively, Answer Questions About Products, And Make Recommendations To Customers.

  • Physical Ability: Working With Seafood Can Be Physically Demanding, Requiring Candidates To Be Able To Lift And Move Heavy Items, Stand For Long Periods, And Work In A Fast-Paced Environment. Candidates Should Be Able To Meet The Physical Demands Of The Job.

  • Availability And Flexibility: This Is A Part-Time Position, But Candidates Should Have Availability To Work Evenings, Weekends, And Holidays As Needed. Flexibility In Scheduling Is Important To Ensure Coverage During Peak Business Hours And For Special Events Or Promotions.
