- Lead and manage the integration of human factors into product development processes at Gilead Sciences.
- Utilize strong understanding of human-centered design principles to create user-friendly and innovative medical devices and drug delivery systems.
- Conduct user research and usability testing to gather insights and feedback in order to improve product design and functionality.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including engineers, designers, and product managers to ensure the successful integration of human factors into product development.
- Develop and implement human factors plans and strategies for each project, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards.

- Identify potential use errors and risks, and work to mitigate them through design improvements.

- Participate in cross-functional meetings and provide input and expertise on human factors related topics.

- Support the development and maintenance of human factors-related procedures and processes.

Advanced Degree In Human Factors Engineering Or A Related Field: A Senior Human Factors Engineer At Gilead Sciences Is Expected To Have An Advanced Degree, Such As A Master's Or Phd, In Human Factors Engineering, Human-Computer Interaction, Or A Related Field. This Education Provides A Strong Foundation In The Principles And Methods Of Human Factors, Allowing The Engineer To Apply Their Knowledge To Complex Medical Device And Drug Development Projects.
Extensive Experience In Human Factors And Usability Testing: The Ideal Candidate For This Position Will Have A Minimum Of 5 Years Of Experience In Conducting Human Factors And Usability Testing For Medical Devices Or Pharmaceutical Products. This Experience Should Include Designing And Executing Studies, Analyzing Data, And Making Recommendations For Product Improvements Based On User Feedback.
Knowledge Of Regulatory Requirements: Gilead Sciences Operates In A Highly Regulated Industry, And A Senior Human Factors Engineer Must Have A Thorough Understanding Of Regulatory Requirements For Medical Devices And Pharmaceutical Products. This Includes Knowledge Of Fda Human Factors Guidance, As Well As Other International Standards And Guidelines.
