- Develop and implement a comprehensive leadership communications strategy that aligns with the company's mission and vision.
- Collaborate with senior executives to understand their communication needs and provide strategic guidance and support.
- Create and deliver engaging and compelling communications materials, including speeches, presentations, talking points, and other messaging for executives.
- Manage and oversee the company's internal and external communications, ensuring consistent messaging and brand positioning.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including media, industry experts, and internal teams, to enhance the company's reputation and thought leadership.
- Identify and proactively address potential communication issues or crises, providing guidance and support to senior leadership.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends, news, and developments to inform and enhance the company's communications strategies.
- Lead and mentor a team of communications professionals, providing guidance and support to help them grow and succeed.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment and integration of communication efforts across the company.
- Continuously evaluate and measure the effectiveness of communication strategies and make recommendations for improvement as needed.
- Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and other external engagements, serving as a spokesperson and ambassador for the company.
- Maintain a deep understanding of the company's products, pipeline, and overall business strategy to effectively communicate key messages to internal and external stakeholders.
- Uphold the company's values and culture, promoting a collaborative and inclusive work environment.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to senior leadership, providing strategic counsel and recommendations on communication matters.

Extensive Experience In Strategic Communications: The Ideal Candidate For This Role Should Have At Least 10 Years Of Experience In Leadership Communications, With A Proven Track Record Of Developing And Executing Successful Communication Strategies For Senior Executives.
Strong Written And Verbal Communication Skills: As A Senior Director Of Leadership Communications, The Ability To Effectively Communicate Complex Ideas And Messages To A Variety Of Audiences Is Critical. The Candidate Should Have Excellent Writing And Presentation Skills, As Well As The Ability To Tailor Messaging To Different Stakeholders.
Experience In The Biopharmaceutical Industry: Gilead Sciences Is A Leading Biopharmaceutical Company, And The Ideal Candidate Should Have A Deep Understanding Of The Industry And Its Unique Challenges. Previous Experience In The Biopharmaceutical Industry, Ideally In A Leadership Communications Role, Is Highly Preferred.
Proven Ability To Manage And Lead A Team: This Role Will Involve Managing A Team Of Communication Professionals, And The Ideal Candidate Should Have Previous Experience In Managing And Developing High-Performing Teams. Strong Leadership Skills, Including The Ability To Provide Guidance And Mentorship, Are Essential For Success In This Role.
Strategic Mindset And Business Acumen: The Senior Director Of Leadership Communications Will Be Responsible For Developing Communication Plans That Align With Gilead’s Overall Business Objectives.
