  1. Develop and implement a comprehensive external communications strategy for Gilead Sciences, in alignment with the company's overall goals and objectives.
  2. Lead and manage all aspects of public affairs, including media relations, crisis communications, and government affairs.
  3. Cultivate and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including media outlets, government officials, patient advocacy groups, and industry organizations.
  4. Monitor and analyze industry and political trends to inform and guide the company's public affairs strategy.
  5. Serve as a spokesperson for Gilead Sciences, effectively communicating the company's message and responding to inquiries from media and other external parties.
  6. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment and consistency in messaging and communications.
  7. Develop and maintain a crisis communication plan, including proactive measures to mitigate potential risks.
  8. Develop and manage budgets for public affairs initiatives.
  9. Stay updated on relevant laws, regulations, and policies that may impact Gilead Sciences' operations and reputation.
  10. Represent Gilead Sciences at industry events, conferences, and other public forums.
  11. Foster a positive and collaborative working relationship with internal stakeholders, including executives, legal, and marketing teams.
  12. Continuously evaluate the effectiveness of public affairs initiatives and make necessary adjustments to drive desired outcomes.
  13. Mentor and develop team members, providing guidance and support to ensure their professional growth and success.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Or Advanced Degree In Communications, Public Relations, Or Related Field.

  • Minimum Of 7-10 Years Of Experience In Public Affairs Or Communications, Preferably In The Biotech Or Pharmaceutical Industry.

  • Demonstrated Experience In Developing And Executing Strategic Communications Plans And Messaging For Various Stakeholders, Including Media, Government Officials, And Patient Advocacy Groups.

  • Strong Understanding Of The Healthcare Landscape And Key Policy Issues Impacting The Industry, Including Drug Pricing And Access.

  • Excellent Written And Verbal Communication Skills, With The Ability To Effectively Communicate Complex Scientific Information To A Variety Of Audiences.
